Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 6:30 PM; Armory Park Neighborhood
If you don’t tend to venture downtown, perhaps due to parking or fear of crowds or you just don’t realize how cool it really is, take a chance this holiday season and try out the annual Parade of Lights.
With festivities ranging from the mayor’s tree-lighting ceremony to a uniquely urban parade of one-of-a-kind floats full of bright lights to a wide variety of cuisine options, the Parade of Lights brings the holiday spirit downtown.
WINTERHAVEN FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
December 12 through December 26, 2015 from 6 to 10 PM; Winterhaven Neighborhood
Sure, maybe in any other city the concept of one single neighborhood putting on an elaborate Christmas festival complete with extravagant decorations, hayrides, and trolley tours might appear a bit odd, but in Tucson it is a 65 year old tradition that isn’t stopping anytime soon.
As essential to the holidays as Nightfall is to Halloween, Winterhaven remains a city-wide tradition because it remains awe-inspiring and spirit inducing time after time. You just can’t beat crazy Santa inflatables and obscene amounts of twinkling lights when it comes to December.
