Tennis season is in full swing with seventeen upper school students on the team. At one month in, their record is 9-1.

The girls’ team includes senior Carly Caylor, juniors Catherine Hu, Dora Pezic, and Antonia Maher, sophomores Brandi Swenson, Cameron Moore, and Angela Guo, and freshmen Charlotte DeHoop and Nina Armstrong.

The boys’ team includes juniors Amar Tuli and Daniel Leighou, sophomores Alex Sparks, Max Mainman, Jack Null, and Ethan Van den Berg, and freshmen Byron Panrudkevich and Josh Heros.

Coach Mark Swenson said, “It’s been a successful year for the girls, and could’ve been a more successful year for the boys if we got them out playing.”

Last year the girls’ team had three seniors on the team, and the boys team had two. This year, Swenson said, “What’s different about last year is that last year’s girls team had a lot of senior leadership and this year we only have Carly.”

But the girls team will go to the state tournament as a high seed. Swenson said, “Byron, Max and Alex have won the majority of their matches,” and they will likely play at the state tournament this year.

The team will compete in the tournament April 22 and 23.
