During morning meeting, or a performance, you most likely will see Israel running the booth. I pulled him out of the sound booth to ask him a few questions about his senior year and his earlier years here at The Gregory School. I was curious to know how the school’s small, intimate environment has affected his experience.

Israel believes that due to our small environment, he is prepared for the future. TGS offers a “very rigorous environment that has encouraged me to strive to do better.” He also expressed his appreciation for the new dining hall. He believes that the classy dining hall is appropriate for this school.

Asked to offer advice for upcoming senior classes, Israel said that you can look forward to the great support from your college counselors, who help you make good decisions about your future. Given how few students there are, it’s easy to get a lot of help and guidance with your college decision during your junior and senior year.

Asked about his favorite memory from his years here, he told me about an experience with the school’s film club, of which he is a member. “Once Mr. Rolle stepped over Dennett, who was covered in raw egg for a film project.”

You get devoted teachers here, he told me, teachers who are willing to go a long way to help you, whether it’s stepping over an egg-soaked student, or staying after school to help you with your work.

On his long journey forward after The Gregory School, Israel will take with him “the critical thinking skills that my fantastic, exultant, teachers have bequeathed to me.” He is hoping to attend Embry College, an engineering and computer programming college, where he wants to study cyber security, or global security, and intelligence services.
